Dear Andrea,
Yes I remember sitting in your office and we were going over everything and I couldn’t believe the moment was actually happening.
I really thought it would go on for a while longer.
Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Marilyn. I remember you asked me how much money she had and your reply was “that’s not very much.” Haha -it wasn’t!!
Oh thank you so much for giving us better than top-notch care and cleanliness and respect and dignity at a price my brothers and I could actually continue to pay for.
When you said you were raising the price I freaked out, then you told Mike $100. You are the best. we will always feel we did the absolute best for Marilyn. Thank you so much for that.
I wanted to send a memento & I make jewelry, I thought you could pull off this necklace. My married name was McNutt
Stay well, take care and continue on with your path. It is so needed, I did a lot of drive-bys – and there were places as you know… Scary!!
Hibiscus Palace solved an impossible problem for us. When it became clear that our mother was no longer able to live on her own even with a caretaker, and that her dementia was only getting worse, we had to find a solution. It was clear that none of us was in any way up to the task and that she needed professional care. And yet every place we looked at was either large, impersonal, overpriced or some horrible combination of the three.
Hisbiscus Palace in Lake Worth, on the other hand, is none of these. The house is small – only 6 people – with 2 staff during the day and one in the evening. Over the years that our mother lived there, we got to know Andrea and her staff there and they became our friends – as did the people living in the house. We have good memories from those years. We danced, went for walks, even did short trips to the local beaches and restaurants. When we visited, we were always greeted with a smile and found our mother ready to do whatever she was capable of doing.
It was an enormous comfort to all of us that our mother was in a good place and in the care of competent, caring people. Thank you, we will not forget what you did for us.
